Three adult district mission opportunities are coming up and one of them
will be in Humboldt!

1.       On Friday night, August 13, folks from our North Central District will begin checking in to the “Morehouse Motel” at the Humboldt center for an evening of food, fellowship and praise before a day of working together on Saturday, August 14. There are three projects to choose from:

Reroofing the home of CC Dilley. This project will be led by Rich Lindaman and 15 team members are needed.

Building two sets of stairs at the Rutland center. This project will be led by Dean Coleman and 8 team members are needed.

Painting Sunday School rooms at the Humboldt center. Carol Coleman and Joel Goodell will be project leaders.  20 team members are needed.

All meals will be provided free of charge throughout the weekend. Barb Adams will be doing the food planning. Deadline to sign up is Tuesday, August 3.

2.      Early Response Training class will be held Friday evening, August 27 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 28 from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (You must attend all 10 hours of class.) The mission of an early response team is to provide a caring Christian presence in the aftermath of disaster. We will learn how to tarp a roof, about properly sanitizing an area, how to sort materials, listening skills and how the ERT system works. Approximate cost is $7.50 for a background check. Meals will be provided for a free will offering.

Sunday, September 12 (leaving in the afternoon) through Wednesday, September 15, are the dates of the North Central District mission trip to Oakville, IA. Projects yet to be determined. We’re looking for 15 team members. Deadline to sign up is September 1.

I will be team leader for both mission work opportunities. Never joined us on a mission trip before? Try out the work day in Humboldt in August and you might decide to join us in Oakville in September! Don’t delay; contact me with questions or to sign up as these opportunities are open to all members of our North Central District. There is also information on the mission shack.

Do you have friends and/or relatives in other UMC’s? Invite them! Together let’s reach out and make some new friends! Imagine what we can accomplish when we all work together as the hands and feet of Christ.

                                                Together On His Mission,
