Cleaning Buckets
With all the flooding in Iowa and our neighboring states, the Mission Committee feels the need to collect money for the cleaning buckets, formerly called the Flood Buckets.
A cleaning bucket is valued at $55.00, so on Sunday, September 18th at all centers we will pass a bucket to collect for the Cleaning Buckets.
These supplies enable people to begin the overwhelming job of cleaning up after a flood or a hurricane.
Thanks,

CROP Hunger Walk Notice:
We all care about hungry people, but what can one person do? You can join the Humboldt CROP Walk to raise your voice against hunger and raise funds to help hungry people around the world and here in our own area. A portion of the funds raised will go to help our local food pantry.
The Humboldt CROP Walk will take place on Sunday, October 2, 2011, starting at the Congregational UCC Church, 111 North Taft Street at 2 pm. To find out more, pick up a Donation/Registration envelope, or to get your congregation or group involved, call Pastor Lynda Bigler at the church office: 332-2329. Help end hunger one step at a time.
PS This is a great activity for students seeking community service activities for school!
We live by faith, not by sight. (2 COR 5:7)

Beginnings
an introduction to Christian faith
Never been to a “Bible study”?
Hungry or thirsty for something, but you do not know what that something is?
Try…. Beginnings—- an introduction to Christian faith.
This study presents the basic beliefs of Christianity and its relevance to modern life.
Faith United Methodist Church is sponsoring this 12 week program to provide answers to people ‘seeking the meaning of life as experienced by Christians’.
Beginnings is for anyone, church membership is not required, extensive Bible knowledge is not needed.
Each session starts at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. Refreshments, a video presentation and a discussion period are features of each session. This study will cost you nothing but the reward can be priceless.
Is this the opportunity you have been waiting for?
Beginnings will begin Thursday, October 6, 2011—7:00 p.m. at the Humboldt center.
You may call the church office 332-2083 (8:00 a.m.—4:30 p.m.) or 332-2077 (after 6:30)

The year is coming to an end quickly! Below is a summary of financial data. I’ve recently mailed out the contribution statements for Jan 1, 2011—Aug 31, 2011. If you have any questions about your statement or would like to adjust your pledge, please contact me.
